Care & Prayer Ministry
We believe in the power of prayer to connect us to God and to each other. All are encouraged to send in prayer requests so that we can support each other in our personal prayer times. To receive updated lists of prayer requests, sign up for our email newsletter at the bottom of the page.
SO CONTINUE ENCOURAGING EACH OTHER AND BUILDING EACH OTHER UP, JUST LIKE YOU ARE ALREADY DOING.
1 THESSALONIANS 5:11
Remember the cowardly lion in The Wizard of Oz? He knows that he needs courage and the wizard provides a heart. The word ‘encourage’ might be understood to mean ‘to put the heart in.’ Therefore, we care for one another and grow through worship and study so that we may encourage each other.
We believe in building up and cheering on those around us. People are connected to a church because they believe in following Jesus and that we are stronger together on a journey of faith than we are on our own. Realistically, you are going to face some things in life that can be devastating. Jesus never promised that following Him would be a journey full of happiness and free of difficulty.
There are many ways for you to find the spirit of encouragement at Melissa UMC!
We encourage all adults to find or create a small group where they can grow in faith.
If you have children or youth, you will want to connect with our Children’s and Youth ministry.
If you can’t find what you are searching for or you are unsure of where to start, we are here to encourage you! Contact Pastor Stacey (firstname.lastname@example.org), talk with a friend who attends Melissa UMC, or stop by our ministry center to get more information.
