Melissa UMC is a community of faith who lives out Christ’s
command of love for all (Matthew 22:36-40).
Welcome. Encourage. Serve.

On that first Christmas, as Mary and Joseph approached Bethlehem, they knew that they would have a hard time finding somewhere to stay. The generosity of the Innkeeper created space in the manger with the animals. In that humble space prepared for them, Love was born.
There is a space prepared for you at Melissa UMC this Christmas Eve.
At our 9am service, we will observe the fourth Sunday of advent by lighting the candle of "joy." This will be a normal Sunday morning service.
Our 11am service is perfect for families with kiddos! Kids will lead us in this service with the "ABCs of Christmas" as we tell the story together.
Both the 6pm and 8pm services are candlelight - they will feel like a Sunday morning service.
The 11pm service will be an acoustic, in-the-round style service where we will hear readings and sing songs together as we light our candles and ring in the birth of Christ.
At each service, we will sing carols, tell the story, and light candles (and glowsticks) to remember God’s Light given to the world. These core memories remind us that, even in the business of our daily lives, we belong. You are our welcome with us this Christmas Eve!

We recently added a new opportunity to engage in worship on Sunday mornings - the Art Table! During regular Sunday morning services at 9am and 11am, you can find the art table at the back of the worship space with an array of materials like paint, markers, pencils, and more. No matter your medium, the Art Table is open to you as a way to process and reflect on the service.
Be sure to follow the Art Table on Instagram to see all the creations- @melissaumc_arttable!
