Welcome to Kids Ministry
MUMCKids is a vibrant and growing ministry at Melissa UMC for children Pre-K through 5th grade, offering Sunday morning Children’s Chapel with Ms. Katie during services, and a worship “pray-ground” to keep kids engaged.

We know parents are trusting us with what matters most. We want you to feel confident bringing your child to Melissa UMC.
Our goal is simple: to create a safe, welcoming, and joyful environment where children can learn about God, build friendships, and know they are loved.
Safety and Check-In
Your child’s safety matters to us.
We use a check-in process to help make your family’s experience smooth and secure. Our children’s ministry team and volunteers are committed to creating a caring and safe environment for every child.
On your first visit, we’ll help you get checked in, answer your questions, and show you where your child will be.

Worship Opportunities
Children begin worship with their parents (two songs). After our Welcome time, we have Children's Time then our kids go to Children's Chapel with Ms. Katie.

First Visit
Visiting for the first time? We’ve got you.
We know trying a new church with kids can feel like a lot. That’s why we want to make your first visit easy.
When you arrive:
We’ll help you get checked in
We’ll show you where your child’s class is
We’ll answer any questions you have
We’ll help your family feel at home
No scavenger hunt required. This is church, not IKEA.
Partnering with Parents
We believe parents matter most.
We want to partner with families as children grow in faith. Our role is not to replace parents, but to support and encourage them as they lead their children spiritually.
Throughout the year, we offer fun events and meaningful experiences that help kids grow in faith and build friendships beyond Sunday morning.

Children's Chapel
Sunday mornings in Portable C
Join us for Children's Chapel every Sunday morning during worship services! This fun, faith-based program is designed for kids to explore Bible stories and grow together in their understanding of faith. Through engaging activities and meaningful lessons, children will discover how the Bible connects to their everyday lives while building friendships in a supportive community.
