Our Campus
Melissa UMC is formed on a foundation of literal generosity. The 12 acres on which our church is built was a gift from a member of First United Methodist Church of McKinney.
Our current facility sits on the half of our property and was built with two missional needs in mind: sacred spaces and community gathering places. You'll notice an open floor plan intended for worship that is used for many other purposes and a commons gathering area for group meetings, casual conversations and more.
Reserve a Space
Melissa UMC is committed to providing sacred space and gathering places for our community. Many of our spaces are open for public use during our office hours. However, these policies and fees are in place for those who would like to reserve dedicated spaces or host meetings after hours.
Our Stained Glass Windows
"God said, “Let there be lights in the dome of the sky to separate the day from the night. They will mark events, sacred seasons, days, and years. They will be lights in the dome of the sky to shine on the earth.” And that’s what happened." - Genesis 1:14-15
Our stained glass windows reflect light from the sun (East window) and the moon (West window). They were designed and made by Foster Stained Glass Studio in Bryan, Texas. The light from these windows fills the space where we mark the sacred moments in our lives: worship, baptism, profession of faith, celebration of life well lived, and so much more. The light from the sun moves around the worship space on a bright morning. On a clear night, the starlight in the windows shines through the darkness as God's love breaks through every darkness we experience.
