Care & Prayer Ministry

We believe in the power of prayer to connect us to God and each other. All are encouraged to send prayer requests to support each other during our personal prayer times. To receive updated lists of prayer requests, sign up for our email newsletter at the bottom of the page.

SO CONTINUE ENCOURAGING EACH OTHER AND BUILDING EACH OTHER UP, JUST LIKE YOU ARE ALREADY DOING.

Prayer Request

Remember the cowardly lion in The Wizard of Oz? He knows that he needs courage, and the wizard provides a heart. The word ‘encourage’ might mean ‘to put the heart in.’ Therefore, we care for one another and grow through worship and study so that we may encourage each other.

We believe in building up and cheering on those around us. People are connected to a church because they believe in following Jesus and that we are stronger together on a faith journey than on our own. Realistically, you will face some things in life that can be devastating. Jesus never promised that following Him would be a journey full of happiness and free of difficulty.

You can find the spirit of encouragement at Melissa UMC in many ways!

We encourage all adults to find or create a small group where they can grow in faith.

You will want to connect with our Children’s and Youth ministry if you have children or youth.

If you can’t find what you are searching for or are unsure where to start, we encourage you to contact Pastor Stacey (stacey@melissaumc.com), talk with a friend who attends Melissa UMC, or stop by the church for more information.

Caregiver Support Group

Every 3rd Thursday at 2:00 pm, a small group gathers in the worship space. This is a space for those who spend time caring for a friend or loved one to find support in community and some space to breathe. No reservations are necessary, but we encourage you to call the church (469-301-6060) to let us know to expect you.
