WELCOME to Melissa UMC!

Whether you are new to our community or new to church, we are glad that you clicked that last button to start this journey.

At Melissa UMC, welcome is one of our core values. We define it this way… welcome is loving you for who you are and where you are in your journey. Basically, that’s a fancy way of saying that we are not going to force you to be or believe something that doesn’t come naturally to you. We believe that every person is a person of sacred worth who bears the image of God in the world and we seek to offer a community where all people are welcome.

You will see Melissa UMC building relationships across our community – in schools, in neighborhoods, in homes, at football games, at the park – basically anywhere. Relationships with each other and with God are key to making disciples of Jesus Christ and transforming the world.

We are real people with real problems. We are sometimes a bit of a mess and you will notice that we talk about the mess of life pretty often in worship. We are far from perfect but we believe God is perfecting love in and through us. We seek to live that love in the world around us.
