Where did you grow up?  I was born in Illinois and lived in Virginia and Indiana when I was a kid before moving to Texas. I?ve been in the DFW metroplex since I was in the 6th grade.

Where do you to go school? Mustangs, Buffaloes and Mustangs again? Grapevine High School. West Texas A&M for my Bachelors of Music. Perkins School of Theology at SMU for my Masters in Divinity.

Who?s in your family? Keith and I have been married for over 20 years and our teenage daughters, Emma and Kayla.

What?s your favorite thing about Melissa UMC? YOU ARE! I love that we are a church that welcomes all people, then connects us to one another and to God as we grow in faith together.

The best place to find me is on Sunday mornings before or after worship. However, I love meeting up for coffee or a meal to see what God is up to in your life.

Where did you grow up?  I was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and moved to North Texas when I was barely over a year old where I grew up in Frisco my entire life.

Where do you to go school? I graduated from Frisco High School and then headed to Fort Worth at Texas Christian University where I graduated with my Bachelor?s of Music Education. I then attended graduate school at Perkins School of Theology where I earned my Masters of Sacred Music and wore purple every day (Go Frogs).

Who?s in your family? My wife Sawyer were married back in April 2018 and are residents of Melissa. My parents live in Plano and hers are from Midland. We both have a younger brother. Her brother lives in Austin and my brother is a citizen of the world.

What?s your favorite thing about Melissa UMC? I love being a part of a community that continuously reaches out for one another, challenges us to discern what God is calling us to do in our own lives, and lifts up and loves each other for who God has created us to be.

You can find me on Sunday mornings playing and leading with the Praise Band. It?s one of my favorite places to be in worship as well as helping our community find it?s voice whether that?s in worship, Inspiritus Youth Choir, or Bible studies!

Where did you grow up?  I was born in Pawhuska, OK and raised in Colleyville, TX.

Where do you to go school?  I graduated from Grapevine High School.  Then, I went to Oklahoma State University where I received a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration Marketing.  

Who?s in your family?  Nicco and I have been married for 22 years and have 2 kids.  Brenton at Melissa High School and Mackenzie who attends Oklahoma State.

What?s your favorite thing about Melissa UMC?  Everything!  I love the people and the other staff members.  

The best place to find me is Mon-Thur at our Cooper Street Ministry Center from 9-12.  I love visitors!  On Sundays, I can be found at Real People small group (I would love to see you there), and at worship at 11am.

Eli Somers, Minister of Youth and Families,

Eli serves as our Minister of Youth and Families through a partnership with Center of Youth Ministry Training (CYMT). He will be working with our youth in Melissa while studying towards a Masters of Arts in Youth Ministry.
